| 3 hookers. We came into the Ivy tournament with a big struggle on our hands: we had only 3 front-row forwards available, and all 3 are primarily hookers! Luckily Theresa Laverty had played prop before but neither Kathryn O’Neill nor Anna Moccia-Field had. Anna was quickly converted into a prop in the half-hour before the tournament, the referee was asked to keep a close eye on the first couple of scrums, but no worries: all went well as the three hookers held their own and played every minute of both games. |

| Rutgers out-muscled us at the gain line and the 22-0 score was almost entirely due to that dominance. Lack of aggressiveness at tackles and rucks continues to be our biggest weakness; some of this may be attributed to lack of size, but there is no question we can do better. |

| The Maryland game saw Lizzie Harvey ’06 take the train down from NY to help inspire the team after its big loss to Navy. Although we also lost this game, the new-look team started to get some cohesion, cohesion that would, two weeks later, allow us to defeat Harvard. Lauren Waltz ’08 scored our only try to make the score 5-10 in the second half. The last 15 minutes, however, saw Maryland take control of the game with 4 late tries for a final score of 5-34 |
